In an effort to link every corner of this vast and diverse land of ours,Indian railway has undertaken massive civil enginerring projects like tunneling ,laying tracks over ghat inclines and building bridges.Some of the earliest bridges constructd by Indian railways include:-

The Magnificent bridge,build on River Sone near Ara ,Bihar and opend in 1863 and the Ganga -the largest and most important of the bridges over the sacred river Ganga.this was officially opend in 1887
